Little Brother Rye is an Americana band from San Francisco, California.

The band began to take form in the spring of 2014 in Tempe, Arizona where childhood friends from Utah - Charlie Brennan, Liam McNally, and Eric Glauser - met Giselle Lee at a recording session. After a weekend of late nights collaborating in the studio and a memorable trip to Paolo Soleri’s famous experimental town, Arcosanti, they knew they had found something very special.

As fate would have it, the trio from Salt Lake City found themselves living together in San Francisco a few months later. They then added cellist Hannah Sabet to the mix, doubling Little Brother Rye’s number of lovely and talented ladies. Charlie (vocals/guitar), Liam (dobro), Eric (mandolin) and Hannah began to write and gig in SF in the summer of 2014. Although Giselle (fiddle/banjo) still lives in Arizona, she is very much a part of the band and travels to San Francisco as often as possible to practice, perform, and take in her favorite city.

Little Brother Rye’s music is a pleasant blend of Folk, Bluegrass, Americana and Soul with inspiration coming from a wide array of artists ranging from Otis Redding to Old Crow Medicine Show to Bon Iver. Each member of the band has taken bits and pieces from their respective musical psyche to create a sound that is as unique as it is sweet.
